Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Lasers set school record in 1,600-meter sprint medley relay Saturday

HOOKSETT, N.H. - Hanna Babek, Emily Hong, Sarah Milne and Averie Greeley of the Lasell University women's outdoor track & field team set a school record with a time of 5:36.42 and finished sixth overall in the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay Saturday during the Penmen Relays on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University.

Sinclair Samuels placed ninth out of 26 and was the team's top-performer in the shot put with a mark of 9.65 meters. Kristina Powers, Greeley, Milne and Hong tallied a sixth-place nod in the 4x400 relay, crossing the finish line in a time of 5:01.78. SHNU won the meet with 173 points.

Powers, Milne, Hong and Babek took their talents to the 4x100 relay, as the unit placed third, clocking a time of 55.48. Chante Gregory, Sophia Franzik, Caitlyn Geary and Riley Silvia competed in the same event, tallying a time of 1:09.15.

Franzik suited up for the javelin, recording a distance of 22.49. Silvia competed in two individual events, featuring the discus (26.39) and shot put (8.15). Elise Stanbury represented the Lasers and was the unit's top-finisher in the discus throw (26.57). She also competed in the shot put (8.82).

Geary competed in one individual event, registering a distance of 7.28 during the shot put. In the javelin, Powers posted a mark of 22.60.

The Lasers will compete in the pre-conference meet on Saturday, April 23, at Regis in Weston, Massachusetts.
