WSOC: Lasers bounce back with strong showing against Simmons

Brighton, Mass. – Freshman Alyssa DeOliveira (East Providence, R.I.) scored a hattrick as the Lasell University Lasers women's soccer team got back in the win column against the Simmons University Sharks, 5-0, in Wednesday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) at Daly Field.

The Lasers improve to 9-4 overall and 9-2 in the GNAC while the Sharks fall to 2-11-1 and 2-7-1 in the GNAC.

DeOliveira gave the Lasers the lead in the 19th minute following a pass from junior Alex Lorenzo (Pawtucket, R.I.). Graduate student Korynne Provenzano (Stratham, N.H.) doubled the lead following an assist from freshman Julia Vaillancourt (Danvers, Mass.).

The Lasers added three more goals in the second half, the first of which was the second goal of the game for DeOliveira. Junior Bobbi O'Guin (Newton, Mass.) got in the goal column in the 68th minute and DeOliveira finished her hat trick in the 71st minute.

The Lasers will be back in action on Saturday, October 25, when they travel to Anna Maria College for a GNAC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m.
