WSOC: Lasers bested by Beavers in non-conference clash

Babson Park, Mass. – The Lasell University Lasers women's soccer team took on the Babson College Beavers Monday afternoon, falling 2-0 in a non-conference battle at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

Sophomore Kyli Swann (Queen Creek, Ariz.) made her first career start in net for the Lasers making five saves.

Babson took the lead in the 44th minute when senior Sydney McLaughlin (Sherborn, Mass.) converted a penalty kick.

The Beavers doubled their tally in the 69th minute senior Julianna Abrams (Pace, Fla.) slide a pass through the Lasell back line to McLaughlin, who took a tough and drilled a left-footed shot past a charging Swann.

The Lasers were outshot 18-4 for the game and were edged 8-2 in the corner battle.

The Lasers are back in action on Saturday, September 11th when they travel to Emmanuel to take on the Saints at 12:00 p.m.
