Women's Soccer Partners with National Foundation for Cancer Research

Newton, Mass. –  The Lasell College women's soccer team is participating in an annual nationwide fundraiser from the National Foundation for Cancer Research called "NFCR's All-Stars," which invites sports teams around the country to participate by committing to donate proceeds from at least one game or special event to NFCR.

Lasell will be donating proceeds from their Friends, Family and Alumni game versus Albertus Magnus College October 13th, 2012 to NFCR.

"We are looking forward to participating in NFCR's All-Star campaign to both celebrate the life of my mother, Maria LaFrancesca, who fought this terrible disease, but also to continue to raise awareness about the ongoing fight to beat breast cancer," said Lasell's Head Coach Vito LaFrancesca.

To raise funds, the team will collect donations from fans during the game. Players will also wear pink uniforms in support of the cause. There is no admission cost.

The game benefitting NFCR will begin 12:00 p.m. on Lasell's Taylor Field.
