WLax: Lasers Surpass Bulldogs with 14-13 OT Win

Franklin, MA. - The Lasers surpassed the Dean College Bulldogs in a critical GNAC matchup this weekend. 

The Lasers started the game on a hot streak, answering Deans singular goal with three of their own. Both teams scored once more before the end of the quarter, heading into the second with the Lasers ahead by two. 

The Bulldogs dominated the second quarter, scoring five back to back goals, all unassisted. The Lasers battled back with two goals of their own. One from Teresa Kessner, and one from Jacquelyn Scopa, her first career goal. 

The two teams returned to the field after halftime, with Dean ahead 7-6. Again, the Bulldogs continued to dominate scoring right off the draw. Lasell put up two goals against the four from Dean. 

The Lasers battled back from another four goal deficit in the fourth quarter. Lasell came within a singular goal of the Bulldogs, when Dean responded by tacking another goal on the board. Two Lasers goal in the last 6 minutes tied things up and sent the teams into overtime. 

The three-minute long OT period began with a Dean win on the draw, heading down to the Lasers defensive end. The Lasers held the Bulldogs all 90 seconds of their shotclock, turning the ball over and allowing them their chance at Dean's net. The Lasers went down and scored close to immediately off a feed from freshman Emily Watson to Kaitlin Bedell

Kessner tallied a whopping 7 goals on the match, while Joy Savah collected 12 saves in net. 

Up Next: The Lasers will host Regis College this Tuesday in another critical GNAC matchup.
