WLax: Lasers Climb to 4-2 on the Season After 17-5 Win over RIC

Newton, MA - The Lasell Women's Lacrosse team defeated the Anchormen of Rhode Island College to advance to 4-2 on the season, while RIC drops to 1-5. 

Lasell put up five unanswered goals in the first five minutes of the match, three of which came from senior attacker Annarita Sanfilippo who recorded her second hat trick of the season. A sixth goal for the Lasers curtesy of Teresa Kessner, gave the Lasers a 6-0 lead with just under ten minutes to go in the quarter. 

The Lasers held a 10-1 lead heading into the second quarter. The first six minutes of the quarter went scoreless, until junior defender Shannon Borbee sent one in and recorded her first collegiate goal. 

The Anchormen and Lasers each scored a pair of goals in the third, but the Lasers kept a tight leash on their lead and continued running time heading into the fourth. A goal from Kaleigh Kosta and Emily Watson at the start of the fourth ended scoring on the day, finishing the game with a final score of 17-5.  

Kessner had a season high five ground balls for the Lasers, with three goals on the match. Watson scored two goals and an assist, tieing her career high record. Joy Sayah had 12 saves in the net to collect her fourth win of the season.
