Boston, MA - The Lasell College Men's Cross Country team opened the 2012 season by competing in the 4th Annual Fens Classic hosted by Emmanuel College. The event featured a 5k course for the men through Boston's historic Backbay Fens area and finishing on the track circling Roberto Clemente Field.  The Roger Williams University Hawks took 1st place, while Emmanuel College and Wheaton College finished second and third respectively.

The Lasell men's team finished in fifth place, scoring 113 points.

Alex Weselcouch (17:20) was the top finisher for the Lasers in the men's 5K race in 11th place, while Kyle Northrop (18:05) and Patrick Sponzo (18:11) crossed the line only six seconds apart finishing  26th and 28th respectively. Rounding out the Lasell squad were Conor Devlin (20:06) in 40th, Isaac Montoya (20:28) in 45th, and Tyler Schwabe (22:01) in 49th.

The men will return to action on Saturday September 15th when the compete in the UMass-Dartmouth Shriner's Invitational.
