Northrop Paces Lasers at Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, MA-- Freshman Kyle Northrop (Bellingham, MA) paced the Lasell College men's cross country team by concluding the Pop Crowell Invitational in 56th place individually, to steer the Lasers to a 16th place team finish.  The annual race was hosted by Gordon College and featured 224 male runners on the 8K course.  Northrop ended the race in 29 minutes and 38 seconds.

The University of Southern Maine took top honors at the multi-division meet with 72 points, while Lasell's fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competitors Johnson & Wales University earned a second place finish, falling behind Southern Maine by just five points.

Crossing the finish line with a time of 31:16 was Lasell senior Raymon Donis (Raynham, MA).  Donis was trailed closely by Conor Devlin (Wellesley, MA) and JB Leger (Waltham, MA).  Devlin came across the ending line exactly one minute after Donis and Leger was 20 seconds behind Devlin. Leger slashed ten seconds off his previous personal best time with his 131st place finish.

Grant Vantine (Fitchburg, MA) and Michael Isherwood (Warwick, RI) completed the scoring for Lasell with times of 33:59 and 35:06 respectively.

Lasell returns to action on Saturday, October 8th at St. Joseph's College of Maine at the Running Monks Invitational.
