BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Men's and Women's Cross Country team won its opening meet against Lasell College Saturday afternoon. Though both teams had to deal with intermittent drizzling and humid conditions, the three-mile course was still suitable for running for the dual meet.

The Lasers top finisher was Chris Johnson (Gloucester, MA) who placed 4th and ran a time of 18:14.  Following behind Johnson and all placing in the top 20 were Kris McCabe (Kingston, NY) who placed 11th and ran a time of 19:14, Dave Walsh (Springfield, MA) with a time of 19:26, Zach Lambert (Marlborough, MA) running 19:30, and first year Mike Isherwood (Warwick, RI) who finished 18th in his first collegiate meet, with a time of 21:03. 

Kayla McKenna (Warwick, RI) was the first Laser on the women's side to finish with a time of 23:13 and finishing in the top 10 of the women runners. 

The Lasers will next compete at the Smith College Invitational on September 13th.
