MVB: Five Lasers Named to All-GNAC Teams

Newton, MA - The GNAC announced their All-Conference teams on Monday, and Lasell had five players named to the teams.

Both Jesus Garcia and Brenden Joyce were named to the All-Conference First Team. Garcia had 906 set assists, giving him 2,590 for his career, the second most in school history. He assisted on 74.1% of Lasell's kills on the season. Jesus had 14 matches of at least 30 set assists, and seven matches of at least 40. He was named the GNAC Setter of the Week twice, and was named the Setter of the Year as well. Garcia Led the GNAC in sets, with 91 more than the second most. He also led the Lasers in digs with 164, the 11th most in the conference. Garcia was named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week twice.

Joyce ranked fourth in the GNAC with 36 service aces, 11th in GNAC with 298 kills, and his .292 hitting percentage ranked seventh. His 2.91 kills per set ranked fifth. Recorded double digit kills in eight matches, and had at least five kills in 19 of his 20 matches played. Had five double-doubles on the season.

Jordan Shinaut was named to the second team all conference. He ranked fourth in GNAC in both categories with 264 kills and a .306 hitting percentage. He also ranked third in K/S with 3.43. Had two double doubles on the season.

Theo Zaharewicz and Jan Baranowski were each named to the third team all conference. Zaharewicz ranked 12th in GNAC with 193 kills and 10th in hitting percentage with .236. He also ranked 27th in GNAC with 104 digs.  He was named GNAC Offensive Player of the Week twice.

Baranowski was seventh in the conference with 0.72 Blocks per set, 15th with 42 blocks, 33rd with 88 kills. He was named GNAC Defensive Player of the Week once.
