Men's Volleyball: Jordan Shinaut earns sixth straight GNAC Rookie of the Week honor

WINTHROP, Mass. - After recording 17 kills in a 3-2 comeback win over Rivier Sunday afternoon in the Athletic Center, freshman Jordan Shinaut (Peoria, Ariz.) of the Lasell University men's volleyball team earned his sixth consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week award Monday.

In the victory over the Raiders (13-8, 10-2 GNAC), Shinaut tallied five block assists and six total blocks for the Lasers (17-8, 11-2). The win moved the Lasers into the second slot in the conference standings. In first place is No. 10-ranked Wentworth (22-4, 11-1).

The Lasers went 4-0 this week, as Shinaut compiled 13 kills and seven digs in a 3-0 sweep against Emerson Tuesday in the Athletic Center. Shinaut ranks fourth in the GNAC in kills per set (3.47) and sixth in total kills (229), while sitting in a tie for fourth in solo blocks (14).

The Lasers will compete in a non-conference match against Eastern Nazarene Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Athletic Center.
