Springfield, MA - The Lasell Men's Track & Field team kicked off their season at the Springfield College Season Opener on Saturday with a 6th place finish.

The star of the day was sophomore Brady Mackechnie. He finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.97s, 4th in the long jump with a jump of 6.43m, and 16th in the 200m with a time of 24.68s. His time in the hurdle event set a new program record, besting his own previous record of 9.51s. He set that previous record back in February. On his record setting performance, he had this to say: "Seeing the work you put in come to light is something that makes all the training worth it. The feeling of accomplishment gives both confidence and excitement for the meets to come."

Also having a successful day was Kadeem Ambroise, as he placed 4th in the 400m with a time of 56.08s, and 11th in the 60 m hurdles event with a time of 11.77s. Michael Curran placed 9th in the 1000m with a time of 2:55.67.

Mackechnie, Curran, and Ambroise were joined by Evan Lewis in the 4x400m, where they placed 6th with a time of 3:56.24.
