WINTHROP, Mass. - Ben Abely and Sinclair Samuels were named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Women's Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, on Monday after superb performances at the Penmen Relays Saturday on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University in Hooksett, New Hampshire.

This is the second time this season that Abely has earned Track Athlete of the Week recognition. Monday marked Samuels' first-ever weekly GNAC award.

Abely took his talents to the 100 meters (11.58) Saturday and finished 10th out of 33 in the preliminaries of the event. He grabbed 12th-place honors during the 200-meter dash (23.70). Samuels placed ninth out of 26 and was the team's top-performer in the shot put with a mark of 9.65 meters.

The Lasers will compete in the pre-conference meet on Saturday, April 23, with a 10 a.m. start at Regis in Weston, Massachusetts.
