MSOC: Lasell held scoreless by Keene State

Keene, N.H. – The Lasell University Lasers men's soccer team fell to the Keene State Owls, 7-0, Monday night at Dr. Ron Butcher Field.

The Lasers drop to 2-10-1 on the year while the Owls improve to 2-5-2.

Junior Denis Fleming (Pearl River, N.Y.) got the Owls on the board in the 6th minute, as junior Mbambi Mbungu (Kabimba, DR Congo) crossed the ball through the box and senior Yusufu Juma (Kindu, Congo) squared it to Fleming for the goal.

Ten minutes later junior Noah Spaulding (Claremont, N.H.) corralled a loose ball in the box and lasered a shot into the far corner.

Less than two minutes after Spaulding's goal Keene State added another; senior Henry Cummings (Grafton, Mass.) chipped the ball over the top of the defense for senior Vance Bates (Chatham, Mass.) to run on to, and he finished the chance.

The Owls added their fourth of the half when senior Clinton Mungeta (Concord, N.H.) scored from the penalty spot.

The 56th minute saw the Owls add to their total when Mbungu dribbled his way through the defense to put home the goal.

Ten minutes after the Mbungu goal, Fleming added a second when he scored from close range.

Nick Dalesio scored the final goal for the Owls after receiving the pass from freshman Brandon Comire (Deerfield, N.H.) and sped past the defense to tap it in.

The Lasers will be back in action on Saturday, October 16, when they play host to Johnson & Wales on Senior Day and Friends, Family & Alumni Weekend. The kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
