Newton, Mass.-Lasell's men's soccer team had two student-athletes selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Weekly Honors for the week ending September 20th. Dan Hatch, a junior forward from Avon, Massachusetts, and Julian Dutton, a senior goalkeeper from Madison, Connecticut, were selected as Player and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively.
Hatch was chosen for the honor of Player of the Week after collecting 8 points in a 2-0-1 week for Lasell. The striker scored twice against both Lyndon State College and Emerson College, leading Lasell to 4-1 wins in each contest. Hatch is currently the leading scorer for Lasell this season with 10 total points, having scored four goals and added two assists.
Dutton picked up a total of 20 saves in net this week for the Lasers on his way to a 3-0-1 record so far in 2009. Dutton started the week with a 4-1 win over Lyndon State, producing four saves, and then followed that up with 11 pick-ups against GNAC foe Suffolk University. In a 4-1 win over Emerson, Dutton finished the week with an additional five saves. So far this season, Dutton has a .848 save percentage.
