LASERS REMAIN AT TOP OF GNAC

The Lasell College men's soccer team remains in the top spot of the GNAC standings after beating the Rams of Suffolk University, 3-0, on Saturday.  The Lasers jump up to 6-1-0 in the league, with their only loss to Norwich University, and have two conference matchups yet to play.

Dan Hatch (Avon, MA) and Zach Gagne (Somerset, MA) each had a game for the Lasers, tallying three points each.  Twelve minutes into the game, Hatch marked the Lasers first goal using assists from Robert Gonzalez (Palmdale, CA) and Kyle Cronin (Weymouth, MA).  Gagne then stepped up to a pass from Hatch to give Lasell a 2-0 lead before the break.

Notching his first goal of the season, and the final goal of the game, was Joseph Acuek (Lincoln, MA) fed by Gagne late in the second half.

The Lasers defense was overpowering for the Rams offense, holding Suffolk to only 11 shots, with only 3 on goal.  Julian Dutton (Madison, CT) played a great game for the Lasers, and grabbed his fourth shutout of the 2008 season, along with three saves.

The Lasers have won six of their past seven games, and have a 7-5-0 overall record.  Lasell's final five games of the regular season will be played on their home field.

The Lasers next take on the Nighthawks of Newbury College on Tuesday, October 14th.  The game will start at 3:30 p.m. on Taylor Field.
