MLax: Buzzer Beater Pushes Lasers Past Plymouth State

Newton, MA - The Lasell Men's Lacrosse team defeated the Panthers of Plymouth State this afternoon in a nail biting contest, ending with a final score of 11-10. 

The Lasers opened up scoring with two back to back goals from Anthony DeRosa. The Panthers answered, but DeRosa sent another to the back of the net to give Lasell a 3-1 lead. Plymouth scored once more to end the first quarter. 

Plymouth outscored the Lasers 3-1 during the second quarter forcing Lasell to head into halftime down by one. 

Lasell's Finnegan McCormack fired one in just a minute and a half into the third quarter, which was answered by Plymouth just a minute later. A pair of goals from Landon Reyes and Francis Pino gave Lasell back the lead. Plymouth answered with three back to back goals to regain the lead.

The Lasers dominated the fourth quarter, putting three goals on the board and denying Plymouth at every opportunity. With just under two minutes left the Panthers evened out the score. The next two minutes went scoreless, until a buzzer beater from Reyes with just a second left on the clock gave Lasell the win.

Reyes put up four goals and two assists on the matchup. DeRosa recorded his first hat trick of the season. Goalkeeper Michael Catalano made seven saves in the net.
