MLax: Lasers Defeat Rivier in GNAC Opener

Nashua, NH - The Lasell Men's Lacrosse team defeated the Rivier Raiders on Wednesday by a final score of 10-9 in OT. The win moves the Lasers to 2-4 on the season and 1-0 in GNAC play while the Raiders are now -4 and 0-1.

The two teams traded goals in the first, going back and forth. The Lasers got two goals from Ryan Stone, and athird from Patrick Mulhern to lead 3-2 after one quarter. The lasers then outscored the Raiders 3-1 in the second, getting goals from Anthony DeRosa, Mulhern and Landon Reyes. The Lasers led 6-3 at halftime.

After Rivier outscored Lasell 3-0 in the third, the two teams each scored three goals in the fourth, with Lasell's coming from Matthew Carbone, Jason Martin, and DeRosa. DeRosa's came with 90 seconds remaining in the game, and tied things up at nine. Reyes would then win it in overtime.

The Lasers were led by Carbone's 13 ground balls, and 15-22 performance on faceoffs. Michael Catalano got the win in net making six saves.
