MLax: Carbone Sets School Record in Loss

Boston, MA - The Lasell Men's Lacrosse team fell to the Emerson Lions on Wednesday by a final score of 13-12. With the loss the Lasers are now 1-3 on the season, while the Lions move to 4-3.

In a high scoring game, the Lions held the advantage in the first quarter, outscoring the Lasers 4-2. The Lasers got goals from Ryan Stone and Landon Reyes. The second quarter saw the Lasers gain the control, scoring six goals, including three from Patrick Mulhern. Also scoring was Finnegan McCormack, Jason Martin, and Casey Hart. The game was all tied at eight at halftime. Lasell would grab their only lead of the game early in the third on a Francis Pino goal, but the lead only lasted a little over a minute before the Lions tied things back up. The Lasers scored one more time in the quarter, a Landon Reyes goal, but trailed 12-10 headed into the fourth. Goals from McCormack and Adam Haytayan drew the Lasers within one on separate occasions, but they were never able to get an equalizer.

Matthew Carbone dominated the faceoffs in this game, winning 23 of 27. He would also grab the ground balls off most of those, as he set a new school record with 19.

Michael Catalano picked up the loss in goal, stopping nine shots.

Up Next - The Lasers will hit the field again on Saturday when they travel to Hartford for a 12pm game.
