MLax: Lasers Fall to RWU

Bristol, RI - The Lasell Men's Lacrosse team fell to Roger Williams on Saturday by a final score of 22-9. The loss drops the Lasers to 0-2 on the season, while the Hawks are now 2-1.

The Hawks opened up the scoring with three straight goals, followed by back to back goals from Patrick Mulhern and Anthony DeRosa for Lasell. The Hawks would close out the first quarter with a goal to go up 4-2. The Hawks would extend their lead even further in the second, outscoring the Lasers 6-3, with the Lasers getting two goals from Landon Reyes, and one from Ryan Stone. This made it 10-5 at halftime. The third quarter saw the Hawks once again outscore the Lasers 6-3, with the Lasers getting goals from Reyes and Stone, as well as Jason Martin. The Hawks would score six goals for the third straight period in the fourth, with the Lasers getting a fourth goal from Reyes before the game was over.

The Lasers got 10 saves from Michael Catalano in net, and three from Cameron Soave. Matthew Carbone led the team with 11 ground balls, with many of them coming from his 17-29 performance on faceoffs. Reyes led the team with four goals and an assist, while DeRosa had the one goal with three assists.

Up next - The Lasers will host SUNY New Paltz on Saturday at 1pm.
