Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers defeated the Johnson & Wales Wildcats in a GNAC Quarterfinal match by a score of 13-5. The win moves the Lasers to 12-6 on the season, while the Wildcats end their season at 10-8.

A low scoring first quarter saw the Lasers score first seven minutes into the period on an Adam Haytayan goal. He would later add a second one with 14 seconds left in the quarter, but the Wildcats responded with a goal just seconds later before the buzzer sounded. But the Lasers would quickly grab momentum by scoring the first four goals of the second quarter, starting with a Nate Taggart goal less than two minutes in the period. Just minutes after that, Patrick Mulhern found the back of the net while the Lasers were a man up. Two more goals came from Ryan Stone to put the Lasers up 6-2. The two teams would trade two goals each the rest of the half, with Jack Tauson and Mulhern each scoring in the final five minutes for Lasell. The Lasers led 8-3 at halftime.

The third quarter saw Lasell continue to build their lead, scoring three times. Patrick Mulhern, Adam Haytayan, and Jack Tauson each scored, and the Lasers took an 11-3 lead into the final period. After two goals in the first three minutes by Mulhern and Francis Pino put the Lasers up 13-3, Lasell began to coast to the finish line. They would allow two unanswered goals, but took home the 13-5 win.

Patrick Mulhern was the star of the day racking up four goals and four assists. Adam Haytayan scored three times, and assisted on another. Matthew Carbone led the team with seven ground balls, and went 10-21 from the faceoff circle. Casey Hart led the team with three caused turnovers. Tyler Rose had two CTs, giving him 50 for the season, breaking David Sheehan's record of 49 for most in a season. Sheehan, the career leader for caused turnover's set that record in 2018. Rose and Sheehan are the only two players in Lasell history to have over 100 career caused turnovers. Goalie Michael Catalano made 16 saves for the Lasers in the win.
