MLax: Lasers Takedown Dean

Franklin, MA - The Lasell Lasers Men's Lacrosse team defeated the Dean Bulldogs on Tuesday by a final score of 15-8. The Lasers are now 4-4 on the season and 2-0 in GNAC play. The Bulldogs are 3-2 and 0-2.

The Lasers struck first on a Jack Tauson goal three minutes into the game off of an Adam Haytayan pass. After Dean tied things up, the Lasers scored twice in 90 seconds. The first a Patrick Mulhern goal assisted by Anthony DeRosa, and the second a goal by David Burke. The Lasers then closed out the first quarter with a Ryan Stone goal in the final seconds.

The second quarter was a similar story, as the Lasers scored early on a DeRosa goal. The Bulldogs then scored soon after, but the Lasers responded with four unanswered goals before halftime. First Mulhern scored while the Lasers were a man up. Then Jack Tauson scored a pair to complete a hat trick in on half. Mulhern then completed his own hat trick with the last goal of the half to put the Lasers up 9-2.

The third quarter was dominated by the Bulldogs, as they outscored the Lasers 6-2. The two Lasell goals were scored by Ryan Stone and Jack Tauson. The fourth quarter was back to Lasell controlling play, as they scored four goals while Dean scored none. The goal scorers were Mulhern, Tauson, Casey Hart, and Anthony DeRosa.

Jack Tauson led the way with five goals and an assist, while Mulhern scored four. Adam Haytayan, Nate Taggart, and Anthony DeRosa each had three assists. Matthew Carbone collected seven ground balls, while also winning 12 of 26 faceoffs. David Burke led the team with four caused turnovers. Goalie Michael Catalano made nine saves to earn the win.
