MLax: Lasers Offense Leads Way to Win

Davenport, FL - The Lasell Lasers Men's Lacrosse team picked up a win in their final Spring Break game, defeating Eastern Connecticut by a final score of 15-10. The Lasers are now 2-4 on the season, while the Warriors are now 2-2.

The Lasers got out to a fast start, scoring a goal just 50 seconds into the game when Patrick Mulhern found the back of the net. minutes later Adam Haytayan doubled the lead with a goal off a pass from Anthony DeRosa. Less than a minute later Landon Reyes added to the lead to make it 3-0 just five minutes into the game. After the Warriors scored twice, Jack Tauson put the Lasers back up by two with a goal from Nate Whitehead. The Warriors closed within one once again, but the Lasers closed out the quarter with two more goals, one by Reyes and another by Tauson. Both of those goals came from Nate Taggart.

The Lasers would continue to build their lead in the second quarter, scoring the first three goals of the quarter. The first and third goals were both scored by Patrick Mulhern off of assists from Reyes, while a Brendan Dean goal was sandwiched in between. The Warriors would score the final two goals of the half, but Lasell led 9-5 at the break.

The Warriors dominated the third, outscoring the Lasers 4-1. The lone Lasell goal came from Landon Reyes. The Lasers held a 10-9 lead heading into the fourth. The fourth quarter was the opposite of the third, as Lasell dominated, outscoring the Warriors 5-1. Each of the five goals were scored by someone different, as Reyes, Mulhern, Haytayan, Francis Pino and Anthony DeRosa found the back of the net, giving the Lasers the 15-10 win.

Patrick Mulhern and Landon Reyes led the way with four goals each. Jack tauson recorded his first multi-goal game of his career with two goals. Along with his four goals, Reyes also led the team with three assists. Nate Taggart also recorded three assists. Tyler Rose led the Lasers with eight ground balls and four caused turnovers. Magnus Leonard also recorded four caused turnovers. Goalie Michael Catalano made nine saves to pick up the win.

Up Next - The Lasers will return home to play their first conference game of the season as they host Saint Joseph (CT) on Saturday at 1pm.
