Men's Lacrosse: Anderson, Beauchemin and Rose set to play in NEILA All-Star game Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - James Anderson '22, Alex Beauchemin '22 and Tyler Rose '22 of the Lasell University men's lacrosse team will compete in the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Star game Friday at 7 p.m. on Providence College's Anderson Stadium.

The three Lasers will be on the West All-Star team, along with fellow GNAC student-athlete Nick Penta of Regis. Mike Mongelli of Johnson & Wales will suit up for the East team. The livestream for the game, can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NitvrZ6fnF4

Players and fans should enter campus via Huxley Gate (250 Huxley Ave, Providence, RI 02908) and take first right at the rotary and an immediate right into the parking garage. You can park in the garage or continue through the garage to additional parking by the hockey arena. The field is adjacent to garage.

The 2022 Lasell men's lacrosse team won 10 straight games from March 16–April 23, went 9-1 in the GNAC and earned the second seed in the conference tournament. The unit's stellar defense held seven opponents to four or less goals. Beauchemin was named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight season and along with Rose was named to the All-Conference first team. Anderson represented the unit on the second team.

Beauchemin, who was named to the GNAC All-Tournament team, went 12-6 in the net, as the 12 wins were the third most in a single season in program history. He also inserted his name into the program's record book in single-season goals-against average (7.52, fifth best), save percentage (.606, eighth) and saves (197, ninth). The Westfield, Massachusetts, native earned two GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week awards.

He ranked second in the GNAC this season in wins, second in goals-against average, third in saves and third in save percentage. Beauchemin was sensational in an 8-4 victory over Rivier in the GNAC semifinals, turning away 15-of-19 shots for a .789 save percentage, while keeping the Raiders off the scoreboard for the first, third and fourth quarters.

Rose was named to the GNAC All-Tournament team and recorded two or more caused turnovers in nine games. He recorded season-highs of seven ground balls and five caused turnovers during a 10-6 triumph over visiting Saint Joseph's College of Maine on April 13. The five caused turnovers are tied for the seventh most in a single game in team history. Rose compiled 37 caused turnovers in 2022, the third most in a single season in the program's record book and ranked second in the category in the GNAC during the year.

Anderson scored his 100th collegiate goal during a 13-6 victory over Saint Joseph (Conn.) in the first round of the playoffs. Anderson led the team in goals (40), asssists (15) and points (55). The 40 goals are tied for the eighth most in a single season in program history. The Medway, Massachusetts, native finished with three or more goals six times and tallied five or more points on five occasions.
