NEWTON, Mass. - Landon Reyes, Bash Cunningham and James Anderson compiled three points apiece for the Lasell University men's lacrosse team during a hard-fought 10-6 win over Saint Joseph's College of Maine in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Wednesday afternoon at Grellier Field.

"It was a great team win, our defense stood tall in the second half," said Lasell University Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Dieter Treusdell. "I am proud of the way we executed."

Reyes tallied his third hat trick of the season for the Lasers (8-5, 7-0 GNAC), while Cunningham recorded two goals and one assist and Anderson finished with one goal and two assists. Lasell only allowed two goals in the entire second half.

Senior goalie Alex Beauchemin, who has won two GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week awards in 2022, improved to 8-4 in net this season, making seven saves. The Lasers have won eight consecutive games, with seven of the contests being in the GNAC.

Noah Tierney-Honan and Timothy Goodfellow each finished with two goals for the Monks (3-10, 1-5 GNAC). Goalies Brannon Gilbert and Ryan Boutiette combined for 14 saves in net for Saint Joseph's.

Each team scored twice in the first quarter, as a tally by graduate student Brendan Johnson, assisted by freshman attack Ryan Stone, knotted the game at 2-2 with 11 seconds remaining in the opening frame.

A goal from Goodfellow with 10:05 left in the second put the Monks in front, 3-2. The Lasers scored four of the final five goals in the half, as Anderson registered all three of his points during the surge. A goal by Anderson with 1:48 on the scoreboard sent the hosts into intermission with a 6-4 advantage.

A goal by Tierney-Honan of Saint Joseph's trimmed Lasell's lead to 6-5 with 14:02 remaining in the third, but the Lasers took complete control with four straight goals. A tally by Magnus Leonard midway through the fourth quarter gave the unit a 10-5 cushion.

Senior defender Tyler Rose had a phenomenal game for Lasell, grabbing seven ground balls and leading all players with five caused turnovers. Reyes and Anderson tallied seven shots apiece and Steven Phelps picked up seven ground balls. For the Monks, Goodfellow and Tierney-Honan combined for 12 shots.

The Lasers held a 37-31 advantage in shots and led the ground-balls category, 40-28. Lasell won 12-of-18 faceoffs. The hosts finished 21 for 26 on clears, while the visitors went 19 of 25.

The Lasers will compete against GNAC-rival Johnson & Wales Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Providence, Rhode Island.
