Men's Lacrosse: Alex Beauchemin named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - After making 12 saves, allowing only three goals and posting a .800 save percentage in an 11-3 win for the Lasell University men's lacrosse team at Anna Maria Saturday, senior goalie Alex Beauchemin took home Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week recognition Monday.

Beauchemin has earned six GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week awards in his Laser career and is also a one-time winner of the Rookie of the Week honor. The Westfield, Massachusetts, native has won seven straight games in net for Lasell (7-5, 6-0 GNAC).

He has started 11 games this season, making double-digit saves nine times. Earlier this season, Beauchemin allowed only three goals, respectively, in back-to-back victories over Eastern Connecticut and Saint Joseph (Conn.) on March 16 and 19. Against the Warriors, he posted a .769 save percentage, and then followed up with a .824 save percentage against the Blue Jays.

The Lasers will compete against GNAC-rival Saint Joseph's (Maine) Thursday at 4 p.m. on Grellier Field.
