TRINITY MEN’S LACROSSE POWERS PAST LASELL

Hartford, Conn-Trinity College powered their way to a 14-1 non-conference men's lacrosse vitctory over the visiting Lasell Lasers.  The Bantams improve to 3-1 this season, while the Lasers fall to 1-3 after Tuesday afternoons contest on Jessee/Miller Field.

 

Trinity came out and went up by six goals in the first quarter, then notched four more goals in the second to take a 10 goal advantage and holding the Lasers scoreless heading into the half.  The Lasers took just nine shots as opposed to the Bantams 20 in the first half.  Lasell's netminder Mike Kelliher (Weymouth, Mass.) recorded eight saves on those 20 shots before the break.

 

In the third quarter, Trinity tallied three more goals to take a 13-0 lead into the final frame.  Lasell's Mike Maggio (Winchester, Mass.) donned the sole Laser mark with just four minutes left in the contest, unassisted in the fourth on an extra-man opportunity.  Trinity answered with their final score with just over a minute remaining in the matchup.

 

Kelliher totaled 14 saves in the contest, adding three ground balls.  Adam Foss (Billerica, Mass.) collected 6 of 13 face-offs and picked up five groundballs.

 

The Lasers return home on Thursday, March 19th in a rescheduled matchup with University of New England.   The faceoff begins at 3:00 p.m. on Grellier Field.
