Newton, MA - The GNAC announced their weekly awards on Friday, and Lasell's Che Hanks was named the men's basketball rookie of the week

Hanks was the scoring spark for the Lasers this past week, leading them to a 2-0 week. Hanks went off for 28 points on Wednesday (Jan. 24) on 10-for-13 shooting in a close victory over Rivier and followed up with a 11-point performance in another win over Regis on Saturday (Jan. 27). The first-year guard averaged 19.5 points per game on 50/50/90 shooting splits while also grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game.
