MBB: Lewis’ Double-Double Leads Lasers to Big Win Over Panthers

Newton, M.A. – Marcus Lewis notched a double-double in Thursday nights 85-59 victory over the Plymouth State Panthers. Both teams now stand with a 4-3 record.

The Lasers dominated the first half, shooting 50% from the field, and 50% from three-point range. Helping that cause was Lewis, along with junior Conan McCusker, both cashing in on three, three-pointers each. McCusker finished the game with nine points. The junior, Lewis scored 13 of his 19 total points, leading the Lasers at half. The Lasers held a 45-26 lead at the break.

The second half was more of the same for the Lasers, shooting at a high rate. Freshman Andy Madesko was a big help in that, going five for seven from the field, tallying 13 points in the half. Freshman Cameron Foster-Martez was a perfect three for three from the field and had seven points in the second as well.

Madesko led the Lasers in points, scoring 21, while he was trailed by Lewis (19), McCusker (9), and Foster-Martez (7). Lewis led the way in rebounding with 11. Madesko also filled the stat sheet with seven assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
