KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Seniors Andrew Cabral and EJ Day, graduate student Kevin Vanderhorst and junior Matt Rothberg of the Lasell University men's basketball team were named to the 2021-22 NABC Honors Court, as the Lasers also earned the Team Academic Excellence award Tuesday.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2021-22 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Over 2,000 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 300 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence awards for 2021-22.

Cabral (sports management), Day (criminal justice), Vanderhorst (business administration) and Rothberg (communication) were crucial factors behind the Lasers finishing 15-11 overall and 11-7 in the GNAC. The third-seeded Lasers defeated sixth-seeded Norwich, 69-57, in the GNAC quaterfinals on Feb. 23, securing a spot in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
