WINTHROP, Mass. - After averaging 15.3 points, 17.0 rebounds and shooting 52.8% from the field during a 2-1 week in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action for the Lasell University men's basketball team, graduate student Kevin Vanderhorst earned GNAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career Monday.

Vanderhorst finished with 10 points and grabbed a game-high 26 rebounds, the second most in a single game in program history, during a 112-55 triumph over Elms Monday in the Lasell Athletic Center. The Lawrence, Massachusetts, native compiled a season-high 25 points and game-best 15 boards for the Lasers (11-6, 8-3 GNAC) during a 78-64 triumph at Dean Friday.

Vanderhorst recorded double-doubles in all three games last week, finishing with 11 points and 10 boards during a 72-68 setback against Regis Wednesday in the Athletic Center.

The 6-foot-4 forward leads the GNAC this season in rebounds per game (13.1) and has recorded double-digit rebounds in 13-of-17 games. He pulled down a program record of 27 boards in a 78-48 triumph over visiting Colby Sawyer on Jan. 22. Vanderhorst has 11 double-doubles on the season and has scored in double figures 12 times.

Vanderhorst is seven points shy of reaching 1,000 collegiate points in his career. The Lasers travel to New Haven, Connecticut, on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. GNAC game against Albertus Magnus.
