NEWTON, Mass. (1/9/17) – Sophomore Tim Blair (Newington, Conn.) earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honors as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office. Blair receives his first-ever GNAC honor after Lasell earned two-of-two victories on the week against Rivier and Anna Maria. The Lasers are riding an undefeated conference streak and sit atop the GNAC at 5-0.
Blair started in both games played for Lasell this week, and averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game, shooting 46.2% overall (12-26 FG). The sophomore guard dropped a career-high 20 points in an 83-58 home-court victory with Rivier, before adding 14 points in Lasell's 75-61 win at Anna Maria.
Blair and the Lasers will look for their sixth GNAC win tomorrow night when they host Mount Ida in a crosstown rivalry match at 8:00 p.m.
