NEWTON, Mass. (11/13/14) – The Lasell College men's basketball team was tabbed 4th in the annual preseaon poll by the coaches of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. With an overall record of 18-12 for the 2013-14 season, the Lasers advanced to the GNAC Semifinals and the ECAC Championship.
Men's hoops will rely on a mixture of returning veterans and incoming players in hopes of another winning season. The Lasers are bringing back six veterans who competed in last year's post-season contests, and with 10 new players, the team will strive to generate an efficient and successful dynamic.
Repeating last year's events, Albertus Magnus College was elected number one in the preseason poll, earning eight of 10 first place votes. According to D3Hoops.com, the Falcons are currently ranked No. 8 in the country. Johnson and Wales University and St. Joseph's College (Maine) reversed rolls in the votes this year, taking second and third, respectively. Lasell College is tied for fourth place with Suffolk University, each receiving 52 points amongst the coaches.
Lasell will open the season at Babson College on Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 PM. Their home-opener will take place on Thursday, November 20th against Rhode Island College at 7:00 PM.
