Men's Basketball Falls on Late Three Pointer

Nashua, N.H. (01/05/13) - The Lasell College men's basketball team nearly earned a Great Northeast Athletic Conference road victory, falling to Rivier on a late three point field goal. Lasell slid to 1-10 and 0-4 in the league, while Rivier improved to 6-5 on the year and 2-2 in conference play.

The Lasers took a 56-54 lead with 40 seconds to play in the game courtesy of a Rob Roy (Dover, N.H.) three pointer, but Brian Troy (Keene, N.H.) answered with a three of his own with seven seconds on the clock to put the Raiders ahead 57-56. Lasell had a pair of shots on their final possession but were unable to convert, and a pair of Rivier free throws with 0.5 on the clock provided the final margin.

Rob Roy and Brandon Ganesh (West Palm Beach, Fla.) each scored 14 points for Lasell.

The Lasers will be back in action on Tuesday December 8th when they travel to Anna Maria for the second of three straight road games.
