NEWTON, MA- Lasell College's junior forward Javon Williams (Mattapan, MA) received national recognition this week being honored by D3Hoops.com on the men's basketball Team of the Week.

The D3Hoops.com Team of the Week recognizes the top performances at each of the five positions from the previous week amongst all NCAA Division III programs. 

Williams was selected after averaging 19.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, five steals and 1.6 blocks per game in a 2-1 week for Lasell.  He recorded a game-best 22 points to go along with six rebounds, five steals, two assists and one block against Babson College to open the week for Lasell on Tuesday.  He then was instrumental in the Lasers first win of the season against Nichols on Thursday, with a 12-point, eight-rebound, five-steal, three-block, and one-assist showing.  Williams capped the tremendous week with a game-high 24 points, shooting 9-for-17 from the field and 6-for-7 from the line, in Lasell's first conference win against Norwich on Saturday.   Williams also produced eight rebounds, five steals and one block en route to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory.

In the GNAC, Williams is currently ranked 2^nd in steals (3.1 per game), 5^th in both points (17.9 per game) and rebounding (7.0 per game), and 6^th in blocks (1.4 per game).  In the NCAA, Williams ranks 12^th nationally in steals per game and 94^th in points per game.
