NEWTON, MA- Justin Harris (New Orleans, LA) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's basketball Rookie of the Week.

Harris was honored with the GNAC award during a 1-1 week for the Lasers during which time he averaged 10 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.  The freshman guard scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished three assists in a 80-70 loss to Emerson to start the week.  He then scored 12 points, tore down seven rebounds and distributed two assists in Lasell's 79-75 victory over St. Joseph's College of Maine.  Harris scored the final two points of the St. Joseph's contest at the free throw line, securing the Lasers' GNAC victory in the final ten seconds of the game.

This is Harris' first time being honored by the conference with a weekly award.
