FH: Lasers fall to Rams

Framingham, MA

The Lasell University field hockey team lost to the Framingham State University Rams 3-0 Thursday afternoon at Maple Street Field. The loss moves the Lasers to 5-4 on the season and the win moves the Rams to 5-3 on the year. 

The Rams got on the board in the 11th minute of the first quarter when Corlene Guenard (Acton, MA) passed the ball inside the circle to Abigail Clark (Uxbridge, MA). Clark then shot the ball into the left corner of the net to make it 1-0 in favor of the Rams.

The Rams added another goal in the 16th minute when after an unsuccessful penalty corner, Guenard passed the ball to the top of the circle to Kennedy St. Pierre (Bath, ME). St. Pierre one-timed the shot into the back of the net.  

When the halftime whistle blew, it was 2-0 Rams. 

In the 32nd minute of the third quarter, Framingham State had another scoring opportunity when they were awarded a penalty kick. Angelina Serra (Braintree, MA) stepped up to the spot and shot it top left, but Lasell goalie Abby Boudreau (Wakefield, MA) was able to make the penalty save. 

In 43rd minute, Isabella Kondi (Canaan, NH) sent a through ball between two Lasell defenders to Corlene Guenard. Guenard, then took a couple of dribbles and shot the ball into the far right of the net past Lasell's keeper.

The Laser goalies finished the game with six saves. Two by Courtney Tello (Nashua, NH) and four by Abby Boudreau

The Lasers are back in action on Saturday when they host Saint Joseph (Conn.) at 12 p.m. The Rams are back in action on Saturday as well when they travel to Worcester to take on Worcester St at 12 p.m.
