GNAC: Two Lasers earn GNAC weekly honors

Newton, Mass. –Junior Sheridan Blaha (Waltham, Mass.) earned field hockey player of the week and freshman Mckenna McCool (Loomis, Calif.) received women's volleyball rookie of the week honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Blaha scored four goals in a 2-0 week for the Lasers, with a pair of two-goal games and both game-winners. She scored both Lasell goals in Wednesday's 2-1 road victory over Anna Maria College, including the overtime game-winner, and she scored Lasell's first and third goals in Saturday's 5-0 shutout over Dean College, including the game-winner on a penalty stroke.

McCool averaged 3.56 kills, 3.44 digs and a whopping 2.33 service aces per set with an impressive .441 attack percentage in a 4-0 week (2-0 GNAC) for the Lasers. She recorded a triple-double Saturday in Lasell's 3-0 GNAC win over Anna Maria College with 17 kills (.481 attack percentage), 16 digs and 13 service aces, which was second-most in a match in school history and one ace short of the school record.
