Newton, Mass. – Lasell University sophomore Lisa Ortiz (Lincoln, R.I.) grabbed Rookie of the Week honors on Monday from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Ortiz scored a pair of goals in Lasell's 1-1 week. She tallied the team's first goal in a 4-2 loss Tuesday at Salve Regina, tying the game at 1-1 in the first quarter, and she notched the Lasers' third goal Saturday in a 4-1 GNAC victory over Rivier.

Ortriz is ranked in the top ten of the GNAC in both goals and assists. She is tied for eighth place in goals and tied for fourth in assists. She is tied for the most assists for the Lasers this year.

The Lasers field hockey team will be back action Tuesday, September 21, when they travel to Nichols College for a non-conference matchup at 6:30 p.m.
