Field Hockey Falters at Regis

WESTON, MA-Regis field hockey downed Lasell College in non-conference action on Wednesday night, 3-0.

The Pride held a slight 16-13 edge in shots but doubled up on the Lasers penalty corner opportunities, 16-8. Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, MA) was awarded the shutout victory with six saves while Lasell's Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) suffered the loss despite making seven stops in net.

Lasell's Hannah Cebry (Burlington, CT) provided Lasell with eight shots, including five attempts on net, while Samantha Cote (East Longmeadow, MA) and Sam Smithers (Yarmouth, MA) combined for the remaining Laser shots.  Cebry was thwarted by Regis defender Chelsea Morrison (Windham, NH) on one of those chances as Morrison deflected away her near-make to pick up a defensive save to preserve the shutout.

Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.) and Christine O'Toole (Wareham, Mass.) each had a goal and an assist while Stacy Burns (Waltham, Mass.) scored on a penalty stroke for the 3-0 advantage.

Lasell will host a home contest against Anna Maria College on Thursday, October 13th at 3:30 p.m. in their next matchup.
