Pilgrims Lock Up Victory against Lasers

HENNIKER, NH-  North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent New England College field hockey yielded a 7-0 victory over Lasell College on Saturday.  The loss slips Lasell to 2-10 this season and 1-6 in NAC play while the Pilgrims boost their record to 5-7 and 4-2 in league action.

The Pilgrims rendered 38 shots including 30 shots-on-goal in the mismatched affair while Lasell shaped just four chances total with three on net.  Senior forward Hannah Cebry (Burlington, CT) fashioned two of Lasell's on-target chances and Samantha Cote (East Longmeadow, MA) produced one.

New England's starting goalkeeper Mary Roux (Hillsborough, NH) swatted away all three of Lasell's attempts at net to pick up the shutout win.  The Pilgrims offense was forged primarily by Kate Roberge (Essex, VT) who finished with three goals and one assist.  Roberge's tallies included the game-deciding goal which she executed just 7:33 into action on a one-touch pass from Emily Kuchta (Norwalk, CT).  Jennifer Adams (Brimfield, MA) would also manage a pair of goals.

Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) and Grace Amato (Sharon, VT) shared time in Lasell's net.  Thornton made 13 saves in the first period while Amato turned aside nine more attacks in the second.  Emily Cooper (Riverhead, NY) also assisted in the defensive efforts with one defensive save.

Lasell takes a break from NAC play for their next contest when they travel to Regis College on Tuesday, October 11th for a 6:00 PM game.
