Parisi Leads Plymouth State Field Hockey over Lasell

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Sophomore Christina Parisi (Hampton Falls, N.H.) came off the bench to score twice in the first half, leading Plymouth State University over Lasell College Wednesday, 4-0, in non-conference field hockey action.

The Panthers dominated the game out of the gate, outshooting Lasell for the game, 36-2.  PSU's first goal came midway through the first half when Parisi scored her first goal after dribbling around the Laser defenders in front of the net.  Parisi netted another less than five minutes later off a rebound from a shot by teammate Cortney Colligan (Brookfield, N.H.) giving the Panthers a 2-0 lead at the break.

Sophomore Lauren Bergeron (New Hampton, N.H.) and junior Kristina Conroy (Wakefield, Mass.) each scored once in the second half to seal the win.  Plymouth State also won last year's game by the same score, 4-0.

The Lasers' two shots came from sophomore Hannah Cebry (Burlington, Conn.) in the middle of the first period.

Sophomore Elyse Sedgley (Hopkinton, N.H.) played the first half in the Panther net and made two saves to record her fourth win of the year.  Freshman Hannah Sawyer (Kingston, N.H.) replaced Sedgley for the second half in her first collegiate appearance of her career.  Lasell sophomore keeper Erin Norton (Yarmouth, Maine) made 14 saves in the loss.

PSU will host UMass Dartmouth in Little East Conference play this Friday at 4:00 p.m.  Lasell will be back home to host Castleton this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
