DeAndrade Unstoppable for Lasell

Newton, Mass. - Meagan DeAndrade (New Bedford, MA) produced five goals and one assist, for a total of 11 points in today's field hockey game between Lasell College and Wheelock College, on Grellier Field.  The Lasers came out victorious with a final score of 7-3, and improved their record to 2-1.

The Lasers dominated the game from the start, controlling the ball and combining for 30 shots, a twenty two shot advantage over the Wildcats eight total shots.  Lasell also came up with 9 penalty corner opportunities, as opposed to Wheelock's five. DeAndrade had four of her five goals in the first half of play, and then connected with her final goal and sole assist in the second period. 

Caitlyn Walker (Middlebury, CT) had another huge day for the Lasers, coming up with an additional 5 points, with one goal and 3 assists.  Walker's goal was scored off of a penalty shot at the 15:31 mark.

Other Lasers that were integral to today's victory include Hannah Cebry (Burlington, CT), who scored her first collegiate goal, as well as Tia Pratt (S. Paris, ME) and Sara Jannuzzi (Glen, NH), each of whom provided an assist in the Lasers win.

Wheelock's Kelsey McAuliffe (Groveland, MA) did connect with the back of the Lasers net twice in the first half, once off a pass from Alana Phil (Franconia, NH), and once unassisted. The final Wildcat goal was made by Jill Chaffee (Bridgewater, MA), unassisted.

Wheelock leaves today's game with a 0-3 record.

Lasell hits the road this weekend to play at Wheaton College on Sunday, September 14th.  Game starts at 1:00 p.m.
