UMF STEALS NAC GAME FROM LASERS

Emma Deans (Gorham, ME) scored the lone goal of the NAC contest between Lasell College and University of Maine, Farmington, to give the Beavers the 1-0 win.

It was the strong play by both team's defensive lines and goalies that held UMaine, Farmington and Lasell in deadlock until the 43rd minute of the game.

Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) recorded11 saves in the first half alone for the home team, while Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) picked up 6 saves for the visiting Beavers.  Thornton was assisted by her back line, especially by senior Cara Hulse (Danbury, CT), who came up with two defensive saves, and freshman Ainsley Wolfe (Derry, NH) producing one defensive save in the game.

Deans goal, which was scored without any assist, was her 5th of the season and boosted Farmington's overall record to 5-3.  The Beavers are currently undefeated in the NAC, at 3-0.

Barker came out of the contest with 10 saves and earned the shutout, while Thornton picked up 16 total saves on the day.

The Lasers are now 0-2 in conference play, and 3-5 overall.
