Eddy Named Head Coach of Field Hockey and Women’s Lacrosse

The Lasell College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Marushka Eddy as head coach of both the women's lacrosse and field hockey programs.

Eddy comes most recently from SUNY Oswego, where she served two years as the head coach of the field hockey and lacrosse teams.  During her time at SUNY Oswego, Eddy coached four student athletes onto the All-Conference teams.  Prior to her time there, she gained valuable coaching experience at Springfield College and American International College, as well as at the high school level.

A native of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Eddy attended Plymouth State University where she was a member of the field hockey and women's lacrosse team.  She had quite a successful career as a Panther, playing in 127 total games over four years. Throughout her field hockey career, Eddy recorded 20 points, 15 of which she scored during her senior year on six goals and three assists.  Playing as a defender and midfielder on the lacrosse team, Eddy collected 49 caused turnovers, 9 goals, and 3 assists, for a total of 16 points overall.

Graduating in 2004, Eddy earned a B.S. in Physical & Health Education from Plymouth State, and will earn her Master's degree in Physical Education from Springfield College later this year.

"I'm thrilled about this new opportunity," said Eddy upon being named head coach.  "I am looking forward to continuing the level of success the program has experienced, as well as expanding. We're in a league that is growing, but we have a strong foundation and an abundance of potential."

Eddy becomes just the second head coach for the Lasers field hockey team and the sixth for the women's lacrosse team. As a full time member of the athletic department, Eddy will also be responsible for some administrative duties when she is not in season.
