BSB: Lasers Defeat Earlham Under the Lights

Fort Pierce, FL - The Lasell Baseball team defeated the Earlham Quakers on Tuesday night by a final score of 6-5. The Lasers are now 5-4 on the season, while the Quakers are 4-6.

The Lasers went up briefly in the third after a Scott Lyon RBI single, but Earlham tied things up in the third. They would then take a lead in the fourth with another run. The Lasers bats came alive in the fifth when they put up three runs, as Tim Callahan and Connor Freitas each had RBI hits. The Lasers would get two insurance runs in the seventh, which were needed, as the Quakers scored three in the bottom half of the inning, drawing within one at 6-5. But the Quakers never really threatened over the final two innings, as the Lasers won 6-5.

The Lasers had five hits in the game, with Lyon having two of them. The other hots came from Callahan, Freitas, and Jared Whitby. Owen caldwell picked up the win, pitching 3.2 innings of relief, striking out four. Adam Marsh picked up his second save of the season, pitching a scoreless ninth.

Up next - The Lasers will take on in-state rival Westfield State at 4pm on Wednesday.
