Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers Baseball team saw their hot streak halted by the JWU Wildcats on Saturday, falling in both games of their doubleheader by scores of 14-1 and 10-1. The Lasers now sit in a tie with the Wildcats for first in the conference, but JWU now holds the tiebreaker.

Game One

This game started to get away from the Lasers at the start, as they gave up five runs in the first. The Wildcats continued to build their lead scoring the third, fourth, and fifth innings, going up 9-0. A bright spot for the Lasers came in the fifth, when Pierce Clare hit his first career homerun to put the Lasers on the board. But that was all the Lasers got, as JWU continued to score, and eventually won 14-1.

The Lasers four hits came from Bryan Baumann, Connor Freitas, Jared Whitby, and Pierce Clare. Adam Marsh started on the mound for the Lasers, going four innings, and allowing six hits and eight runs. The Wildcats would add another run in the sixth, and then explode for six in the ninth to take the game 10-1.

The Lasers had seven hits in the game, with Connor Freitas having two. Jared Whitby had two walks, bringing his season total to 20, just three behind the single season record.
