BSB: Bats Go Silent as Lasers Fall to Rams

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to 13-10 on the season on Thursday after losing 13-3 to the Suffolk Rams. The Rams are now 7-13 on the season.

The two teams went back and forth early on, with the Lasers scoring in the first on a Bryan Baumann RBI single. The Rams then responded with a solo HR in the second to tie things up. Lasell then answered right back with a Baumann sacrifice fly to take a 2-1 lead. The Rams then had a big fourth inning, scoring seven times. They added another in the fifth to make it 9-2. A Matt Bischof sacrifice fly in the sixth made it 9-3, but the Rams would score four more runs over the next two innings to win 13-3.

The Lasers had seven hits, with Tim Callahan and Ross Audet each having two. The Lasers used five pitchers, starting with Joey Rego who picked up the loss. Rego went 3.1 innings and allowed four hits and five earned runs. He struck out five. He was relieved in the fourth by Jason Giangrande, who went 0.2 innings, and allowed three earned runs on four hits. Joseph Ford came in to pitch the next two innings, and allowed one run on three hits. Joshua Seidle was next, and he allowed two hits and four earned run over an inning of work. Ryan Spies was the last pitcher, and he worked around a base hit, allowing no runs in one inning.
