BSB: Lasers Bounce Back at Nichols

Dudley, MA - The Lasell Lasers baseball team defeated the Nichols Bison on Wednesday by a final score of 5-4. The Lasers are now 11-8, while the Bison are 4-15.

Both teams scored a run in the first, with the Lasers scoring on a fielder's choice. Lasell would take the lead in the third on another fielder's choice. They would extend their lead in the sixth on an error. In the seventh Ross Audet knocked in a run on a sacrifice fly, while Matthew Paharik had an RBI single to make it 5-1. The Bison made things interesting in the ninth, scoring three runs with the help of two errors. But the Lasers were able to close things out and take the 5-4 victory.

The Lasers went with a bullpen game on the mound, playing their sixth game in four days. Jeremy Blackwood was up first, going three innings and allowing two hits and an earned run. Up Next was Darek Lallo, who pitched two innings and allowed a lone hit while picking up the win. Next was Joey Rego. He pitched a perfect sixth inning. After him was Pierce Clare, who pitched two perfect innings. Last was CJ Mills, as he pitched one inning and allowed two hits and three runs, only one of which was earned. At the plate, the Lasers had 13 hits, with Matthew Bischof recording four of them. Christopher Bulk had three, while Bryan Baumann had two. Despite not having a hit, Ross Audet led the team with two RBI.

Up Next - After playing six games in four days, the Lasers have a couple days off before hosting Rivier for a doubleheader at Victory Field in Watertown, MA starting at 10am.
