Fort Pierce, FL - The Lasell Lasers Baseball team concluded their Spring Break trip by dropping both games of a doubleheader to Washington College, falling 9-3 and 6-1. The Lasers are now 4-5 on the season, while the Shoremen are now 9-7.

Game One

The Lasers scored first with Tim Callahan scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning after hitting a triple, one of his three hits in the game. But the Shoremen responded with two in the second and three in the third to take a 5-1 lead. They extended their lead by scoring two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings. The Lasers would get two runs back in the seventh on a sacrifice fly and a Callahan RBI single. But it was not enough, as the Lasers fell 9-3.

Callahan was the only Laser with multiple hits, recording three. Matthew Fletcher started for the Lasers, going four innings and allowing eight hits and five earned runs. He struck out four batters in his first outing since setting the program record with 14 strikeouts in a game. Tim Coakley and Joseph ford each pitched an inning and each allowed three hits and two earned runs. Coakley struck out one batter.

Game Two

The Shoremen got out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning, and added onto it with a run in the second and the fourth. The Lasers got one run back in the fourth on a Christopher Bulk sacrifice fly. But that was it for the Lasers, as they fell 6-1.

Tim Callahan was once again the only Laser with multiple hits, collecting two in this game. Adam Marsh started and went four innings on the mound. He allowed seven hits and six runs, but only three of them were earned. He struck out four and walked two. CJ Mills relieved him, and pitched three perfect innings, including striking out the first four batters he faced.

Up Next - The Lasers will next play on Tuesday, March 21st when they travel to Curry for a 3pm game.
